The Young DJ Academy is a unique & innovative training service established in late 2005 with the sole purpose of providing music services to young people.

The work is delivered to young people through partnerships with statutory bodies, youth projects & community organisations throughout Ireland.

The Academy was established by Mark Finn who is an experienced youth worker & DJ. While working in Swan Youth Service as a youth worker, Mark developed a variety of music programs & activities with young people.

These programs included the establishment of unique DJ clubs, youth arts festivals, radio broadcasting projects, music production training, open mic events, rap programs & recording sessions in professional studios.

Seeing the success of this work, Mark decided to offer his services to other youth & community projects country wide.

Young DJ Academy trainers are Garda Vetted & experienced in working with young people. Music projects are agreed with academy staff, young people & staff from host organisations.

The services offered are based on a youth work approach & aim to achieve a set of goals upon completion.
