The Young DJ Academy was established by Mark Finn (Youth Worker & DJ) in 2005 to provide a training & mentoring service to young people interested in learning to DJ. The Academy has worked throughout Ireland with Youth Projects, Statutory Bodies and Community Groups to provide music education workshops and programmes. The exciting range of activities have included DJ Clubs, Radio Broadcasting Projects, Music Production Workshops, Youth Arts Festivals, DJ Programmes, Discos and other Music Events.

Many of the Young People who trained with the Academy have progressed into further music education, while others have entered the industry as mobile/ club DJ’s. There are also many of the young people who have worked with us that simply enjoyed the experience and had fun with DJ’ing.

Since 2012, the Academy does not provide fee paying services to organisations or to individuals but continues to provide support to Young People. We currently run two DJ Clubs on a voluntary basis that meet weekly in Dublin’s Inner City and in Cabra.
